This workshop is being convened by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Global Environment Fund (GEF), among others, in association with the co-chairs from India and Sweden of the Quito informal Dialogue Seminar on Scaling up Finance for Biodiversity held from 6-9 March 2012. The aim is to build on the Quito discussions and related discussions in the fourth meeting of the CBD Working Group on Review of Implementation, to examine in further depth the salient issues associated with biodiversity finance mechanisms, and to explore what are the most promising avenues for effectively scaling up finance for biodiversity.
