This regional workshop on updating national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs) will be held in Kasane, Botswana. The meeting, also called SARC (Southern Africa Regional Capacity-building), is organized by the CBD Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism of Botswana, and with the financial support of the Government of Japan and other donors. It is the first in a series of regional and sub-regional capacity-building workshops to be organized in 2011 and 2012. In addition to NBSAPs, two days will focus on valuation and incentive measures, in cooperation with IUCN and with the support of the European Community and Mercuria Energy Group.
