This workshop is organized by the CBD Secretariat in collaboration with the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity. Its objective is to strengthen national capacities in taxonomy based on the needs assessment conducted for the region in 2009, and to facilitate the implementation of the programme of work for the Global Taxonomy Initiative (GTI) in harmony with the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020.
