Organized jointly by the CBD Secretariat and the Government of India, this Fair will provide an opportunity for parties of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to share information and experience gained in the Protocol's implementation, such as: national level implementation of the Protocol's Strategic Plan for 2010-2020; development and implementation of National Biosafety Frameworks (NBFs); design and implementation of biosafety capacity-building activities; use of the Biosafety Clearing-House; and implementation of the programme of work on public awareness, education and participation concerning the safe transfer, handling and use of living modified organisms (LMOs) for 2011-2015. The Fair will be held on the sidelines of the sixth meeting of the CBD Conference of the Parties serving as Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol (COP-MOP 6). The participating governments and organizations will be able to present their activities and outputs in a variety of formats, including: posters, printed materials and CD-ROMs, videos and/or PowerPoint presentations.
