BIODIVERSITY AFTER JOHANNESBURG: THE CRITICAL ROLE OF BIODIVERSITY AND ECOSYSTEM SERVICES IN ACHIEVING THE UN MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS

This meeting is organized by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, UNDP, Equator Initiative, The Nature Conservancy and UNEP-WCMC. It will explore how biodiversity loss and the disruption of ecosystem services affect the Millennium Development Goals’ themes, and will also focus on how the conservation, sustainable use and sharing of benefits of biodiversity can help towards the Goals’ achievement.
