Beyond Rio+20: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities

This conference will bring together Anglophone and Francophone African think tanks to share their views on the post-UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) world and discuss how to implement Rio+20 outcomes and inclusive green growth in Africa. The conference aims to connect African think tanks to the global development agenda, improve their policy linkages and strengthen their research capacities. The conference will discuss decent work and social inclusion, inclusive green growth and the green economy, green jobs and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among other topics. The conference is expected to result in an edited book capturing the conference's outputs and discussions, as well as research papers and policy briefs. The UN University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA), the Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale (IPAR Senegal) and the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER, University of Ghana) are co-organizing the event.
