Berlin Forum on Chemicals and Sustainability

The Berlin Forum on Chemicals and Sustainability will take place as an online conference from 7-8 July 2021. It is taking place when the fifth International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5) was scheduled to take place, and will seek to increase political attention and support for the new global framework on international chemicals management. ICCM5 has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Berlin Forum will open on 7 July 2021 with a high-level ministerial dialogue. Statements from UN Secretary-General António Guterres and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be among other high-level participants.

The Berlin Forum will continue with the stakeholder dialogue on 8 July 2021.

Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), Germany, will provide opening and closing remarks. BMU has invited representatives from politics, international organizations, academia and civil society to the high-level political dialogue.
