Assessing Green Jobs for Evidence-Based Policy Making International Research Conference

The Green Jobs Assessment Institutions Network (GAIN) is organizing a meeting to be attended by members from 15 countries, as well as policy makers, researchers, International Labour Organization (ILO) officials and representatives of other international organizations. The workshop will discuss experiences and best practices with regard to green jobs assessments at national and sector levels. Participants will address: the methodological approaches; the comparison of output and employment multipliers of conventional and green industries; and the projections of investment and policy scenarios. Countries currently conducting green jobs assessments will be invited to explore ways to cooperate and contribute to the capacity of national institutions. The conference is part of ILO efforts to strengthen and scale up technical support and policy advice on green jobs. The following day, the Geneva Environment Network (GEN) will build on these discussions at a meeting focused on promoting employment in developed and developing country green sectors.
