ASIA-EUROPE ENVIRONMENT FORUM CONFERENCE

This Forum will take as its theme, ‘1/3 of Our Planet: What Can Asia and Europe Do for Sustainable Development?’ The Forum is co-organized by the Asia-Europe Foundation, Hanns-Seidel Foundation of Germany, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) of Japan, and the UN Environment Programme. It will be hosted by the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation (KEHATI). The Forum will include a number of special events, such as a Workshop on Planet, People, and Profit: Fostering Sustainable Development and Addressing Climate Change through the Clean Development Mechanism. Other events will focus on such matters as the Millennium Development Goals, partnerships, financing and business opportunities, chemicals and waste, and sustainable urban transport.
