This conference will explore the linkages among climate change, agriculture, food systems, social safety nets and nutrition. It will bring together stakeholders from the research, government and donor communities to: exchange and review knowledge; discuss ongoing research efforts; and identify gaps for improvement and future research in the region. The event will help raise awareness about the importance of nutrition and make development in the region more nutrition sensitive. The conference will address: findings from the Global Nutrition Report (2015) focusing on agriculture and food systems, climate change, nutrition-specific interventions and social safety nets in Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries; nutrition-specific programmes and social protection policies in the region; and evidence-based research on the impacts of climate change on nutrition and vice-versa, as well as agriculture-nutrition linkages. The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the Eurasian Center for Food Security and the World Bank are organizing this conference, which will take place at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
