AfricaSolar 2014

Organized by the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE) and the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Burkina Faso, in partnership with the Universities of Ougadougou and Perpignan, the second International Conference on Solar Energy in Africa will convene in Ouagadougou under the theme 'Solar Market in Africa, Strengths and Weaknesses'. The event is expected to bring together around 300 scientists, experts and investors to: assess different solar technologies and related opportunities; and examine the strengths and weaknesses of the solar market in Africa. Topics addressed at the conference are: solar technologies; access to energy in rural areas; energy storage; energy efficiency; and the role of politics, investors and private companies. The conference will seek to bring out concrete recommendations for decision makers and stakeholders on promoting the development of the region's solar market.
