The African Regional Conference on the Beijing+20 Review will discuss progress and challenges in the implementation of the Beijing Program of Action. Participants will also discuss a regional report prepared by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), which analyzes information submitted by 51 African Member States on their national reviews of their progress in implementing the Beijing Program of Action. The recommendations of the meetings will contribute to the global review of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action at the 59th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The meeting will include an expert segment, from 17-18 November, and a ministerial segment, on 19 November. UN Women, UNECA and the African Union Commission (AUC) are organizing the meeting as part of the Beijing+20 regional review process.
