This Africa Regional Workshop on using the 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories will take place in Maseru, Lesotho. The Guidelines provide methodologies for estimating national inventories of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks; were prepared in response to an invitation by the Parties to the UNFCCC; and may help Parties fulfill their commitments under the UNFCCC on reporting on inventories of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of greenhouse gases (GHG) not controlled by the Montreal Protocol.
