The first Africa Conference on Land Grabs will explore the theme 'Governance, Beneficiation and Sustainability: Beyond Rhetoric' through interactive, peer-reviewed parallel sessions. The conference will provide a platform for government officials, writers, academics, businesses, funders and other stakeholders to exchange views in five tracks: Understanding Land Grabs: What implications for Africa?; Community Involvement, Accountability and Beneficiation; Water Access, Food Security and the Future of Commons; Private Sector, Foreign Ownership and Sustainable Development; and Strengthening Land Governance (local, national and continental) and Cadastral Capacity. Scholarships are available for participants, with priority for individuals who will bring knowledge and skills gained at the conference to work in their communities.
