This meeting is co-organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the Government of Nepal, and will seek to: consider government, civil society, and private sector perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in integrating the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in national development strategies; share experiences from good practices and lessons learned in the Asia-Pacific region; and identify concrete action plans to integrate MDGs in national development strategies in Nepal, particularly to reduce hunger, reduce child mortality and improve maternal health, and improve water and basic sanitation.
