The 47th meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (OEWG-47) is expected to consider reports from the Scientific Assessment Panel (SAP), the Environmental Effects Assessment Panel (EEAP), and the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel (TEAP), and other work.

The Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB) summary of the OEWG-46 meeting is here. The SDG Knowledge Hub story is here. Delegates discussed a wide range of issues, including further strengthening the Montreal Protocol institutions by addressing illegal trade, avoiding unwanted imports of energy inefficient products and equipment, the need for additional information on very short-lived substances, and strengthening the enabling environment to enhance energy efficiency in the cooling sector while implementing the Kigali Amendment.
