The 21st session of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) Intergovernmental Council of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will: guide and supervise from the scientific and from the organizational point of view on the implementation of the programme; study proposals concerning development and modification of the programme and plans for implementation; recommend scientific projects of interest to member States and assess priorities among such projects; coordinate international cooperation of the member Sates in the framework of the Programme; make necessary proposals for coordinating the Programme with those conducted by international organizations concerned; assist in the development of regional and national projects related to the programme; and take any practical or scientific measures that may be required for the successful implementation of the programme.
