21-22 November 2012 Managua, Nicaragua
20th Energy and Environment Partnership with Central America Regional Forum on Renewable Energies

The 20th Energy and Environment Partnership with Central America (EEP) Forum is organized by Nicaragua's Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARENA) and Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) together with the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SG-SICA) and the Central American Commission on Environment and Development (CCAD). This Forum will particularly look at bioenergy, particularly biogas from agricultural waste and the rational use of firewood, as well as the use of clean energy sources to make homes and businesses energy self-sufficient. On the second day the Forum will feature a discussion by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) about financial barriers and opportunities for renewable energy projects in Central America, as well as a field visit to a Nicaraguan renewable energy project.
