2018 International Symposium of Ecohydrology and Water Security: Opportunities and Challenges from Developing Countries

The 2018 International Symposium of Ecohydrology and Water Security (ISEWS), organized by a group of academic institutions from China, will focus on “water for ecosystem” (eco-hydrology) and “water for community” (water security).

The event will consider water policies and strategies at global and regional levels as they relate to sustainable planning of urban and rural areas, particularly in highly populated developing regions. Issues to be discussed include water security, integrated water resources management (IWRM) and ecosystem-related water issues such as wetland degradation, hydrobiology and ecosystem resilience.

The symposium will bring together experts from scientific institutions and international organizations, and provide an open platform for discussing theories, methodologies and practices of developing countries, including China.
