This meeting, titled “The Road to Rio+20: Business in the Shift to a Green Economy,” will focus on strengthening the role of the private sector in the transition to a resource-efficient and green economy. It is being convened by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). The objective of the two-day meeting is to review and operationalize the role and contribution of business and industry in the transition to a green economy and the implications for the private sector; and the contribution of the private sector to global processes leading to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
