Organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the 12th meeting of the Coordination Mechanism of the Global Taxonomy Initiative (GTI) has the mandate to prepare for the coordination of regional and global actions to implement the Convention and the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020, taking into account identified needs and priorities in taxonomy.
