This two-day annual workshop hosted by the International Energy Agency (IEA), in collaboration with Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and the International Emission Trading Association (IETA), will bring together more than 130 senior officials from OECD countries, non-OECD countries corporate executives from electric companies, energy-intensive industries, brokerage companies and the financial community, analysts and researchers from non-governmental organizations and academia. Participants will discuss the evolution of GHG emissions trading programmes around the world. Topics to be addressed include: new and evolving global carbon markets; carbon market updates; the role of the carbon markets in future international efforts to finance climate mitigation; and the role of GHG emissions trading in current and emerging international trade disputes.
