This workshop is organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in collaboration with the Wildlife Institute of India and the Programme of Work on Protected Areas (PoWPA) Friends Consortium, in parallel with the workshop on updating national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs). The objective of the workshop is to build capacity to: create national action plans for implementation of the PoWPA; access funding based on such action plans; and strengthen implementation of the PoWPA on the themes of governance, climate change, sustainable financing and valuation of the costs and benefits of protected areas.
