The 2024 Europe and Central Asia Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) will bring together the governments of 55 member States and stakeholders from civil society and the private sector to assess progress on DRR. The event offers an opportunity for governments to improve coordination and implementation of DRR activities while linking to international and national efforts.

The Government of Montenegro will host the 2024 Regional Platform in collaboration with the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the support of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the European Commission, and the Council of Europe. The Regional Platform is an intergovernmental platform that takes place every three years.

Participants will assess progress on the regional European Forum for DRR (EFDRR) Roadmap for DRR and discuss opportunities to build capacity to accelerate implementation of the Sendai Framework for DRR 2015-2030. Participants will also share best practices on addressing regional disaster risk challenges.
