The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) is a unique global venue for sustained discussions on practical issues related to the sustainable management and development of the mining sector. It serves as a forum for dialogue between member- country governments, mining companies and industry associations and represents a growing network of leaders seeking to enhance the contribution of the mining sector to sustainable development. IGF annual sessions and regional meetings convene high-level representatives from developing-country governments, donor agencies, international organizations, civil society and the private sector, fostering coordinated action in strengthening good governance in the mineral sector. The 2016 IGF Annual General Meeting will focus on the theme, “The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Mining”.
