The UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will hold the annual Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD) in preparation for the 2017 session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The theme will be ‘Ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth and prosperity for all’. Among the aims of the forum are to: garner international support to translate the SDGs and Agenda 2063 aspirations into measurable and shared prosperity; examine early results of implementing the two agendas; and strengthen national governments; implementation efforts and inform the global debate at HLPF. UNECA is organizing the ARFSD along with the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and other UN agencies.
