4 January 2010: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a regional institutional capacity building in climate change project to support countries in Latin America in addressing the impacts of climate change on their economies.
The US$1 million project will provide technical capacity to countries in Latin America to assist them in attaining an understanding of the relationship between climate change and economic, social and environmental development, as well as the existence of economic, social and institutional conditions, so that the necessary policies may be executed.
