SDGs in Practice Opening Segment

The SDGs in Practice Opening Segment is one of a series of high-profile special events taking place on the sidelines of the 2024 UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The event will focus on the theme, ‘The Crucial Role of Training and Learning in Advancing the 2030 Agenda’.

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is convening several high-profile special events to highlight the impact of key sectors of society in driving SDG implementation, including this one on SDG learning, training, and practice. DESA will convene the series with the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

SDG Learning, Training, and Practice is an annual series of capacity-building and knowledge-learning sessions focused on topics related to SDG implementation. The series aims to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skills needed to implement the SDGs, foster networking opportunities and sharing of experience among peers, and share practical actions, tools, and innovative solutions for SDG implementation.

The Opening Segment will convene on 8 July 2024, at the start of the HLPF, and the series will take place from 8-17 July.
