This panel discussion will bring together leaders from the policy, research and development communities to examine some of the key findings of this flagship International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) report. Drawing on contributions from rural development experts in over 60 developing countries, the 2016 Rural Development Report highlights the centrality of rural and agricultural development to overall economic growth and concludes that targeted policies focused on rural people will eliminate poverty in developing countries. The launch event will be opened by Kanayo Nwanze, IFAD President, Paolo Gentiloni, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Italy, and Enrico Morando, Deputy Minister for Economy and Finance, Italy.
