The first joint workshop of the Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions for Effective Participation in the Review Committees’ Work is convening in Cairo, Egypt, from 17-19 November 2009.

The objective of the workshop is to support the effective participation of parties and stakeholders in the work of Rotterdam Convention Chemical Review Committee and the Persistent Organic Pollutant Review Committee, and to improve information sharing on chemicals. Participants will be made aware of opportunities for information exchange and synergistic approaches in chemicals management at the national level, as well as processes linked to chemicals’ review at the international level under the Conventions.
