This moderated, global online discussion on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) seeks to involve stakeholders including civil society, academia, the private sector and STI experts on a series of questions addressing: the need of STI for the achievement of the SDGs; opportunities and challenges for maximizing the contribution of STI to the achievement of the SDGs; key elements that countries and international organizations may need to take into account in formulating action plans and/or roadmaps for STI for the SDGs; how to deploy existing knowledge and new, innovative solutions and technologies and make them more readily available to those who need them; and the success criteria and focal questions of the STI Forum in the coming years. The discussion will feed into the First Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs (STI Forum) scheduled to take place from 6-7 June 2016, in New York, US.
