The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will bring together senior managers and leaders of national statistical systems in the region with development partners and members of the Inter-agency Expert Group on Sustainable Development Indicators (IAEG-SDGs). The consultation will update Member States on the process for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as discuss and identify regional and sub-regional priorities for the global monitoring framework that is being developed by IAEG-SDGs. The meeting will include country presentations from South Asia, Southeast Asia and Central Asia. Participants will also hear from the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) about the process that has been undertaken toward developing SDG indicators for Africa.
