This high-level Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) event will highlight global progress on women's and children's health, and is expected to result in innovative and strategic commitments by governments and other stakeholders to deliver the vision of ending preventable maternal, child and adolescent deaths. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will launch an updated Global Strategy for Women's, Children's and Adolescents' Health at the event, which will convene on the sidelines of the UN Summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda.
