The workshop “Mobilizing Wood Resources,” held from 11-12 January 2007, in Geneva, Switzerland, addressed the capacity of Europe’s forests to satisfy the increasing demand for raw material and energy under sustainable forest management.

One hundred stakeholders and country delegates presented on increasing wood mobilization and discussed opportunities and risks. The results of the conference will be considered by the 5th Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE), to be held in Warsaw, Poland in November 2007.
