WAVES Fourth Partnership Meeting

The fourth partnership meeting of the Wealth Accounting and the Valuation of Ecosystem Services (WAVES) program will bring together WAVES countries and partners to share successes and challenges, with a focus on water and ecosystem accounts. It will feature presentations from UN and private sector partners and panel discussions on how natural capital accounts (NCA) support wider development goals. WAVES is a global partnership that aims to promote sustainable development by ensuring that natural resources are mainstreamed in national economic accounts and development planning. The partnership includes UN agencies, governments, international institutes, NGOs and academics. The core implementing countries are Botswana, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Indonesia, Madagascar, the Philippines and Rwanda. WAVES was launched at the 2010 Convention on Biological Diversity meeting in Nagoya, Japan.
