The UN Economic Commission for Europe and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization are organizing this workshop, “Mobilising Wood Resources – Can Europe’s Forests Satisfy the Increasing Demand for Raw Material and Energy under Sustainable Forest Management?” The workshop will explore ways in which the interests of all stakeholders in the forestry sector can be reconciled to achieve a truly sustainable outcome, against the evolving backdrop – and new emerging dilemmas – of higher energy prices and policy support for renewables.
