The fourth Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM4) will bring together ministers from more than 20 participating countries under the theme of “Technology and Business Innovation”. Topics to be discussed include: progress by the 13 clean energy initiatives of CEM; enhancing cooperation between CEM governments; and the development of public-private partnerships to support clean energy development. Six high-level public-private roundtables will be held to discuss: solar photovoltaics; clean vehicles; power markets in emerging economies; renewable policy and finance; energy management systems; and mini-grid development. CEM4 will also hold an Innovation Showcase Pavilion that will be open to the public to highlight 40 groundbreaking clean technologies from 16-18 April. Following the opening of the Pavilion, a Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Women in Clean Energy event will be held, which will include: opening remarks by representatives from India and South Africa; a short film introducing C3E; and a panel discussion on “Women and Clean Energy Innovation.” The Super-Efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) initiative will also present the SEAD Global Efficiency Medal Awards for the most energy-efficient commercially available flat-panel televisions on 17 April.
