New partners were announced at the Coalition's meeting, which took place in Paris, France, on 25 July 2012, to discuss progress of five international initiatives to accelerate action on harmful short-lived climate pollutants.
The initiatives of the Coalition include: addressing methane emissions from municipal waste; emissions from brick kilns; promoting alternatives to HFCs; and emissions from the oil and gas industry.
25 July 2012: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has reported that the Governments of Denmark, Finland and Jordan have joined the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC). In addition, the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) has become the first research institute to become a Coalition partner.

The five current initiatives of the Coalition include: addressing methane emissions from municipal waste; emissions from brick kilns; promoting alternatives to hydroflurocarbons (HFCs); and emissions from the oil and gas industry.
The new partners join the Coalition’s founding members, namely Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Sweden, the US and UNEP, as well as Colombia, Japan, Nigeria, Norway, the European Commission and the World Bank. Germany, France, Italy and the UK indicated their intention to join CCAC in May 2012, at the G8 Summit. Their accession was finalized at the Paris meeting. UNEP hosts the Coalition’s Secretariat.
