The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs' (DESA) Statistics Division is organizing this workshop in collaboration with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The event will bring together representatives from national statistical offices, line ministries and international agencies to review recommendations for calculating Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) indicators, reporting MDG data and establishing strategies for dealing with data discrepancies between national and international MDG figures, particularly for hunger, child, maternal and reproductive health indicators. The workshop will also be an opportunity to review lessons learnt from monitoring the MDGs in view of the preparation of the post-2015 development agenda and the related new monitoring framework.
