IAEA Experts Brief Participants on Nuclear Power´s Role in Curbing Global Warming 1 December 2008: At a side event during the UN Climate Change Conference currently taking place in Poznan, Poland, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will launch a booklet entitled “Climate Change and Nuclear Power 2008,” which shows the climate change mitigation potential of nuclear power.

This booklet also summarizes nuclear power’s potential contribution to
other development and environment challenges, as well as its current
status, including the issues of cost, safety, waste management and
non-proliferation. It features a section dedicated to national
