EU Increases Funding to Neighboring Countries for Climate Projects

2 March 2010: The EU has announced increased funding of up to EUR 2 billion, for the period 2011-2013, to reinforce political cooperation and promote economic integration between the EU and its neighbors. Funding will be used for, among other things, projects in the areas of climate change, transport, energy and environment.

Funding will benefit the countries covered by the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument, namely: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, the occupied Palestinian territory, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
