UNFCCC Releases Addendum to SBSTA 34 Agenda

The addendum to the provisional agenda of the 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice follows requests from Algeria, Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia to include items on the provisional SBSTA agenda.

1 June 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the provisional agenda of the upcoming 34th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 34), which will take place from 6-16 June 2011, in Bonn, Germany.

The addendum (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/1/Add.1) to the provisional agenda follows requests from Algeria, Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia to include items on the provisional SBSTA agenda. Algeria and Saudi Arabia requested the inclusion of carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project activities. Saudi Arabia requested the inclusion of a forum on the impact of the implementation of response measures, and Papua New Guinea requested that the Secretariat include an item titled “Blue carbon: coastal marine systems.” [Publication: Provisional Agenda and Annotations – Addendum]
