UN Foundation and Devex Launch “Rio+Solutions” Campaign
story highlights

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of global sustainability challenges such as energy, healthcare, food security and water scarcity, and also to highlight solutions to these challenges.

10 April 2012: The UN Foundation and Devex have launched the “Rio+Solutions” campaign, which aims to raise awareness of key global challenges and solutions ahead of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

The campaign will consider how global energy, healthcare and other needs can be met, even as the global population increases and resources reduce. Each week, Rio+Solutions will highlight solutions to some of the challenges that are expected to feature prominently at Rio+20, such as energy, employment, cities, food, water, oceans, disasters, health, science and technology, and women’s issues. The Devex website will also feature guest opinions on issues such as sustainability and the green economy. The public is also invited to share their views on the Devex website and via social media such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, about the aid community’s role in fostering global development.
