6 June 2011: The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has approved a methodology for calculating mangrove carbon storage, which was developed by IUCN, the Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) and Sylvestrum.
The methodology was prepared through the “Danone Fund for Nature (DFN)” partnership among the Danone Group, IUCN and the Ramsar Convention, which implemented large mangrove restoration initiatives together with local communities in Africa and Asia.
