CBD Secretariat Publishes First Issue of Aichi Targets Newsletter

The special focus of the first issue of this newsletter from the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is on assisting parties to implement the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020.

It includes messages on the Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and the Aichi targets from the CBD Executive Secretary Ahmed Djoghlaf, and from the President of the 10th meeting of the CBD Conference of the Parties (COP 10) and Minister of Environment of Japan Ryu Matsumoto.

June 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) published the first issue of the “Aichi Targets” newsletter. The newsletter aims to provide a platform to exchange experiences and promote best practices on the processes related to the national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs), as well as to provide information on activities financed under the Japan Biodiversity Fund.

The “special focus” of the first issue is on assisting parties to implement the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. The issue also includes: messages on the Strategic Plan 2011-2020 and the Aichi targets from the CBD Executive Secretary Ahmed Djoghlaf, and from the President of the 10th meeting of the CBD Conference of the Parties (COP 10) and Minister of Environment of Japan Ryu Matsumoto; as well as articles on the Japan Biodiversity Fund, biodiversity planning, NBSAP assessment, and regional workshops on updating NBSAPs.
