The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has invited Southern African Parties to nominate representatives for participation in the regional workshop on updating National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs).

18 January 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has invited Southern African Parties to nominate representatives for participation in the regional workshop on updating national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs), to be held from 14-18 March 2011, in Kasane, Botswana.

The workshop is organized by the CBD Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism of Botswana, and with the financial support of the Government of Japan and other donors. It is the first in a series of regional and sub-regional capacity-building workshops to be organized in 2011 and 2012. Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe are invited to nominate two representatives each by 15 February 2011.
