This meeting will convene under the theme, 'Biodiversity conservation and economic development: Defining green development of natural resources within the Guiana Shield'. The objective of this conference is to identify the impacts of economic development within the Guiana Shield on the environment, and to define measures to reach real green development within the region. Special attention will be given to rural communities with their traditional lifestyle and extensive traditional knowledge of living sustainably.
