The Role of Transparency and Effective Partnerships in Driving Action towards the SDGs along the Next Generation EU Plan

The “Role of Transparency and Effective Partnerships in Driving Action towards the SDGs along the Next Generation EU Plan” is one of three public regional events being held to consider how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting on efforts by companies and stakeholders to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This session will address the role of partnership in addressing the current challenges posed by COVID-19 and maximizing the impact of the new temporary recovery instrument Next Generation EU.

The events are being held as part of a joint project between the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the integrated global power company Enel. Under phase 2 of the project, the two organizations launched a survey to gather feedback from different stakeholders on their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) actions and partnerships, in the context of the COVID-19 crisis. The findings of this survey will be shared and discussed through the three public regional events.

We will also provide insights on successful partnerships and corporate actions that contributed to the SDGs and reflected the enabling role of transparency.

This roundtable aims to help participants:

  • understand the enabling role of transparency for effective partnerships and SDGs impact;
  • learn from concrete examples and reflect on success factors and challenges; and
  • understand where partnerships can support the Next Generation EU plan.
