During CARICOM Energy Week (CEW), activities will take place across Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries under the theme ‘EmPOWERING our Sustainable Development'. Events are expected to: spread awareness around sustainable energy to improve people's ability to make decisions and choices regarding the way they access and use energy; advance regional efforts for sustainable energy production and use; and address energy issues that continue to limit sustainable energy use and the sustainable economic development of the region. CEW was established in 2011, as an annual event, following a mandate from CARICOM Energy Ministers to provide a platform for increased awareness on energy matters. CEW aims to increase knowledge and awareness around energy issues in CARICOM countries and is a partnership among the CARICOM Secretariat, CARICOM countries, regional institutions and development partners within the Community.
