15th Meeting of the Open-ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea

The 15th meeting of the Open-ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea will focus on the theme, ‘The role of seafood in global food security'. The meeting will include plenary sessions and discussion panels on the following areas: understanding global food security and the current role of seafood; the role of seafood in global food security in the context of sustainable development; and opportunities for, and challenges to, the future role of seafood in global food security. The meeting will result in a Co-Chairs' summary of ideas and issues raised and discussed. The Consultative Process meets annually to conduct a review and consider the report of the Secretary-General on oceans and the law of the sea, with an emphasis on identifying areas for enhancing intergovernmental and inter-agency coordination and cooperation.
